How To Handle Obstacles

Did you know that God has some amazing plans for your life?  And I’m not talking about something small or insignificant I’m talking about something big.  But here is the dilemma that you will face, there is a sizable obstacle that stands between you and that special something that God wants you to accomplish.  So, it’s imperative that you understand how to handle obstacles.

There is a television program called Ninja Warrior.  It’s a show in which athletes compete in a series of physically demanding challenges.  Each contestants goal is to make it through every obstacle successfully so that they can receive a substantial financial reward.

The show is fascinating to watch because the obstacles are extremely difficult and the average person isn’t capable of making it through them.  It takes someone special, someone who is willing to push themselves beyond what the average person is willing to do.  Which brings me to the main reason why many individuals do not experience the awesome plans God has for their life, and it is because they have an average mentality.  You see, an individual with an average mentality will allow obstacles to keep them from what God has ordained for their life.  They look at obstacles that are in their path, not as challenges that they must overcome but as a permanent unsurpassable roadblocks.

Obstacles are not designed to be roadblocks but tools that God uses to not only get you to, but also to prepare you for that great thing He wants you to accomplish.  And just like the obstacle course the ninja warriors have to go through, you must go through a series of obstacles as well.  And like the Ninja warrior you can’t stand before your obstacle with a defeated spirit you must attack your obstacles with confidence.

You must understand that God isn’t going to put you into a position of greatness if you haven’t developed the spiritual muscles to handle the job.  So he uses a series of increasingly difficult obstacles to try you and to grow your faith so that you can be fully prepared to handle what He has in store for you.  But don’t worry, you don’t have to do it alone.  Isaiah 41:13 assures us that when we face obstacles we shouldn’t be afraid because He will hold our right hand and help us make it through.  What an amazing God!
